Michael Clobes began his musical career at age seven, playing piano. After a year attempt at violin in 4th grade, he began playing trombone. Mike has studied under renowned brass instructor Johnny Hemkes and infamous jazz trombonist Steve Wiest. Mike has performed for millions of people as a soloist and member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He is also a founding member of the New Orleans style brassband, "The Kingpin Brass Band." Mike was also responsible for the organization and direction of "The Brass Cats Brass Ensemble." In addition to performing, Mike also teaches the Madison Scouts Brass line, acouple different marching bands, private lessons, and works full time at Edwards Instrument Company in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. He has been a featured soloist with many different groups as well as served as a guest clinician for various honors bands.
