Did You Know? - Rudy can play the diggery-do!  That's a long tubular instrument that is associated with Australia.  Well, we heard him play it at a private party in 2007.  Since we don't know what it is supposed to sound like, we have no idea if he's any good!

John Vollmar - Tenor SaxJohn has been playing Saxophone since the age of 9.  John graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in business marketing and a minor in music.  While in Eau Claire John studied jazz under the direction of acclaimed trumpeter Robert Baca.  In 2000 John recorded on the universities Grammy nominated album “Things to Come.”   John has opened for national acts such as: Collective Soul, Dave Mason, Fred Hammond, The Meters, Dion, Herman’s Hermits, Steel Pulse, Third World and Maxi Priest.  John is very excited about being a member of Cold Sweat for years to come.

Alto: Selmer “Reference 54”- Lacquered in a dark gold and is modeled after the legendary Selmer Mark VI.  On Alto John uses a Claude Lakey 5*3 mouthpiece with Vandoren   ZZ # 2 ½ reeds.

Tenor: Cannonball Mad Meg- This sax has no lacquer giving John a real big sound.  John got a great deal on this horn so he couldn’t pass it up.  On Tenor John uses a solid one-piece brass Vandoren T95 mouthpiece with Vandoren ZZ # 2 reeds.

Soprano: Buffet- This sax is very versatile.  John got this sax used and with some slight modifications this sax plays like a dream.  On Soprano John uses a Vandoren S95 mouthpiece with La Voz medium reeds.
