Jay has performed, recorded with, or opened for a large number of jazz, rock, and entertainment notables including:  Bobby Shew, Jeff Tyzik, Wynton Marsalis, Steve Wiest, Paul McKee, Jim Pugh, James Moody, Ritchie Cole, Bob Mintzer, Dennis DiBlasio, Chris Vadalla, Buddy Rich, Steve Houghton, Dave Mancini, Dane Richeson, Ernie Adams, Frank Mantooth, Chic Corea, Russel Ferrante, Alan Holdsworth, Prince, Al DiMeola, Alex Lifeson, Frank Gambale, Adrian Belew, Phil Collen, Paul Pesco, Daryl Stuermer, Vernon Reid, Willie Nelson, Larry Gray, Brian Bromberg, Jimmy Haslip, Jeff Eckls, Yellowjackets, Kansas, Living Color, Rare Silk, Sly and the Family Stone, Rich Little, Lee Meriwether, and many others.

Jay is also a technology geek. As an educator, Jay has taught college music & technology courses, developed curriculum, and presented clinics, lectures, and performances across the country.  He has published guitar and technology-related magazine articles and has worked with a variety of national acts as a sound designer and audio consultant including Adrian Belew, Rush tour, Prince tour, David Bowie tour, Lou Reed tour, Living Colour, Night Ranger, Frank Mantooth, the Tom-Tom Club, Al DiMeola, and others.

Film Credits include soundtrack audio engineering contributions to the 2010 International Emmy Award winner “The World According to Ion B", an HBO Romania documentary.  Album credits for performing or engineering include Play On by Retrobeast (Earth Island Records, 2005), Better Way, by Dyad (Stoic, 2003), Cloud Faktory by Retrobeast (Earth Island Records, 2003) Sophisticated Lady by Frank Mantooth (SeaBreeze, 1995), Stain by Living Colour (Epic,1993), Hal Leonard instructional books/CD's, and producer and engineering credits on many regional and local artist CD projects. Jay's first solo album, "Land Ho" (Stoic, 1994), featured pianist Frank Mantooth, bassist Larry Gray, trumpeter Jeff Tyzik, drummer Dave Mancini, and Jay's original music.
